I had the pleasure of working with Ellie and Michael who joined me at Balboa Island for their engagement session.  These two were a dream to work with for their themed shoot.  

When they contacted me to set up their session, they mentioned their love of exploring new places, going on little adventures together, and food.  Ellie was also very open about her love of Bridgerton which led her to plan a wedding heavily inspired by the elegance and beauty seen on the show.

After discussing their hobbies, interests, and the little nuances that made them Ellie & Michael, we worked together to develop a concept for their date night session that would encompass all of the above.  Like most couples, their personalities are similar but different and I wanted their session to be unique while showcasing the love between them. We decided on a romantic beach picnic that had all of the elements of elegance and fun, heavy on the romance!  An intimate date night with me there to capture all of the little candid moments that would normally only be a memory, and it went even more beautifully than I could have anticipated.

At first I had them Michael posed on a blanket for their upscale picnic that featured a carefully curated basket filled with grapes, chocolate covered strawberries, wine, and a bouquet in beautiful autumn shades that complemented Ellie’s dress.  They were a picture of sophistication in their more formal attire before we made things a bit more casual for their barefoot walk on the beach. The end product is something I think Daphne Bridgerton herself would swoon over.

They were so loving and incredibly expressive, not to mention they  posed like models.  All of the poses came so naturally to them and their chemistry was palpable throughout the shoot. They made my job so easy and the shots we got are just as dreamy as the couple in them! Balboa Island was the perfect location to bring this to life!

I thoroughly enjoyed putting together this themed shoot for this lovely couple!  I loved having the opportunity to plan a session that was personalized to suit their personalities to create a truly memorable session.
