The first half of 2021 has been full of engagement sessions over here at Alaina Elizabeth Photography! I love talking with my couples and finding the perfect location that fits their personality and vibe. Whether you are looking for a dreamy California beach, or an alternative engagement session location, Orange County has the spot for you! Here are my top 5 locations that I’ve shot at in 2021!

1. Salt Creek Beach Park: Dana Point

As my go to beach, Salt Creek had to be the first on my list. In about a 10 minute walk, a beautiful less crowded section of the beach offers sweeping views of the oceans and a rocky landscape. Another perk: plenty of parking and no steps(only a giant hill) down to the beach, which makes this spot more convenient and less stressful!

2. Noguchi Gardens: Costa Mesa

This location is a hidden gem, perfect for the modern yet outdoorsey vibes. Within the gardens, which are between a set of office buildings, you can sit on top of a pyramid for the modern minimalist look, or lay in lush grass among a small grove of trees and pretend you are deep in the wilderness. This spot definitely has some foot traffic, but overall was not super crowded.

3. Santiago Oaks Regional Park: Orange

I loved the variety of different backdrops in a short walking distance from the parking lot at this OC Park. The trails also did not have a high volume of people, even on a Saturday evening at sunset, which always makes a photo session easier and more private.

4. San Clemente State Beach: San Clemente

This beach location made my list for 2 reasons: it is slightly less crowded than other popular beaches and has beautiful bluffs to get 2 different location looks in one session!! San Clemente State Beach is perfect to get the photos on the sand that you want, but also breathtaking photos on the bluffs too!

5. Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park: Coto De Caza

I just recently discovered this wilderness park, and it is absolutely breathtaking. The landscape of fields full of tall shiny grass blowing in the wind is a photographers dream. In a short walking distance from the parking lot you can find these lush rolling hills. Looking for a dreamy mother nature vibe? This is your spot!!
